Advancing the Concept of Bioregion Impact Compass
This work is a follow-up on our Bioregion Health Check concept. The Bioregion Impact Compass (BIC) is a unique multifunctional tool that enables a quantitative assessment of regional drivers and impacts expected from a broader adoption of organic farming. Like a real compass, the BIC shows a region (i) where it stands, (ii) where it should head to pursue an organic farming development agenda and (iii) what impacts to expect.

European Agri-Biodiversity Network
In January 2025, we started working on an EU Horizon project FarmBioNet - a Farmer-focused Biodiversity and Agricultural Knowledge Network. Avalon is a member of a 19-partner consortium from 13 countries. The project integrates research findings and practices related to farmland biodiversity, including climate change mitigation and adaptation and promotes them across the EU.

Join the Netherlands Farming and Biodiversity Network
The FarmBioNet project's core is the Farming and Biodiversity National Networks, consisting of farmers, researchers, students, NGOs, advisors, and other relevant Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS) actors. These national networks gather and disseminate knowledge and information.
