Dr. Jürn SandersDr. Jürn Sanders holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wales and has received specialized training in organic farming in Germany and the USA. He works as a senior researcher at the German Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries (Thünen Institute) leading the research unit on economic analysis of organic farming and agri-environmental programmes. Furthermore, he is lecture at the Humboldt University in Berlin as well as at the University of Applied Sciences in Eberswalde.
At the Thünen-Institute he is advising the German government in issues related to organic farming and agri-environmental policies and has been involved in various international research and advisory projects with respect to agricultural policy and organic farming sector development. Recently, he has led two large EU evaluation project on public policy addressing organic farming and the effectiveness of the organic farming legislation. |
