Dr Darko Znaor

Darko Znaor is a doctor of environmental sciences (University of Essex, UK) and was the first European to obtain an MSc. degree in organic farming (Wageningen University, 1992). He is an experienced consultant with project references in 30 European and Asian countries. Darko has been team leader and/or consultant at >100 projects for the World Bank, OECD, UN agencies, the EC; several Governments; Dutch, Belgian and UK universities; development co-operation agencies and consultancies.

He has developed a unique true cost accounting methodology enabling assessment of environmental and (macro)economic consequences of (total) conversion to organic farming. This methodology has been applied in studies commissioned by the FAO, Walloon Minister of Environment, Heinrich Böll Foundation and the three provinces of the Northern Netherlands. Darko has been working with Avalon since 1993 and occasionally lectures as guest lecturer at WUR (Wageningen University and Research) in the Netherlands.
